Power on – latchbolt automatically retracted, both levers rigid.
Key in cylinder either side retracts latchbolt.
Auxiliary latch deadlocks latchbolt.
CAUTION: Not recommended for use on any door used for Life Safety egress

• Latchbolt retracts in ½ of a second with applied power. Removing power allows latch to be projected back to the extended position.
• Request to Exit available as an option (storeroom and passage functions only)
• No heating detectable with extended latch holdback
• Field reversible for handing
• Can be used in conjunction with any access control application using standard mortise locks
• Creates a push/pull operation that satisfies both in-swing and out-swing doors
• Access controlled via an access control system or by physical key override

This unique option brings motorized electric latch retraction to passage, storeroom or institutional function mortise locksets. The 8200 Series MELR mortise lock is the perfect solution for push-pull conditions or handicap access and is ideal for use with automatic operators to facilitate accessibility/ADA compliance and possible hands-free access.
