Key Features
- 1/16″ (1.6mm) diameter— ideal for thin material welding and detailed work
- LaYZr composition— lanthanum-yttrium-zirconium oxide for enhanced performance
- Superior arc initiation— starts easily at low amperages
- Extended electrode life— reduces consumable costs and downtime
- Excellent arc stability— maintains consistent performance throughout use
- Low burn-off rate— minimizes tungsten contamination in welds
Welding Performance Guide
AC Welding (Aluminum):5-60 amps for 1/16″ diameter. LaYZr tungstens excel in AC applications, providing clean arc starts and stable performance on aluminum alloys. The oxide blend maintains ball tip formation while resisting tungsten spitting.
DC Welding (Steel/Stainless):5-80 amps for 1/16″ diameter. Grind to a sharp point for DCEN welding applications. The lanthanum content provides excellent electron emission properties, while yttrium and zirconium enhance arc stability and reduce tip erosion.
Tip Preparation:For DC welding, grind lengthwise to create a sharp point with the grinding marks running parallel to the electrode axis. For AC welding, allow the electrode to naturally form a ball tip during welding.
Ideal for precision welding applications including aerospace components, thin-wall tubing, and delicate fabrication work where arc control and minimal heat input are critical.
